NPR story on saving our soils using the holistic method.

Here is a link to an NPR broadcast (3 min, 57 sec) on the work of the Nature Conservancy to restore the soil on their 14,000 acre nature preserve in Yuma County, Colorado.  The strategy relies on the technique promoted by Allan Savory or Holistic Resource Management.  You can see that TED video here.

I have been watching this technique for the last 7 years, and anybody who has tried to restore the soil is either implementing or studying this technique.  Unfortunately, it doesn't scale down well to residential yards, but there are many things we can do to adapt our yards and learn from this technique.
