A recent study written by Prof. Zilberman of the University of California - Berkley (Department of Rural Economics) studies the details of our future nutrient use in the USA.  The conclusions of the study were reported by the Southwest Farm Press in this link. 

What the report concluded is:

• Study indicates dire need for future fertilizer nutrients.
• The outlook for sufficient food, fuel and fiber over the next 40 years is dismal unless plant nutrient use is better managed.
• How well we research, plan, and implement the proper use of nutrients in the years ahead could shape how well we will eat in the near future.

Microbial Earth believes that any nutrients that arrive on your property should never leave the property.  In fact, in order to produce sufficient food from our property, we need to invest nutrients into our property.  This will help reduce water and electricity needs in our houses, as well as reduce the carbon foot print and cost of our food.
